Life on the Graveyard Shift…

Things are redundant around here for the most part.

It’s show up at 2300, do the inventory and take care of the hazmat….

Issue tools, laptops and vehicles to the maintainers. It’s the same kids and stuff……

Servicing and scheduled maintenance take place here in the deep dark hours of the night.

This is a short week due to the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. Friday is a “Family Day” as determined by Air Force Material Command…… 4 day weekend…….

This is my best friend during these hours……

Red Flag 12-2 Featuring Yours Truly!

I finally got it uploaded! This is from last year. We kicked ass and took names!

All credit goes to Chad “Snap” Bellay who was the Lockheed Media guy for the 416!

The Furlough is Ending

This is the last week of the furlough………………………………………….Damn, it sure sucked. It really sucked.

Tomorrow I only have to surrender five hours. I took three hours of sick leave to get paid for the rest of the day that I will not be there. The next pay check will be five hours short of an 80 hour pay period.

I have applied at Lockheed Martin on the F-35 here at Edwards. I don’t think I am going to be moved up to a WG-12 in the near future, say, the next 6 years or so until I hit 65. They pay a little over 30 bucks an hour. I get 26.91 base plus shift differential. It isn’t that good. The position is on third(grave yard) shift. The shift differential is 10 percent………………..$33 an hour in the wee, dark hours works for me!

I also did a rather strange thing on Tuesday. I called Herzog Rail Services, Inc. who was a previous employer and begged for my old job back……………………I miss the rock trains.

High Wind Warning in The Mojave Desert

These things at times are never ending around here. It  has actually picked up since sun up. The line will be interesting to say the least.
