Desert Half Moon

It was a pleasant morning and I took the liberty of spending time on the front verandah at Casa de Sharon y Glenn here in the Southeast Kern County Desert.

When I stopped at the Shopette on Edwards AFB this morning to fuel the Titan, I discovered that they had a small variety of decent cigars………………

New Flavour!

As I posted earlier, here it is!

This was procured at the Stater Bros Market in Ridgecrest on Wednesday when taking The Missus to DMV to renew her driver’s license. We now make it a day with a stop at Wally World, Stater Bros and the KFC before heading back to Casa de Sharon y Glenn in beautiful California City.

This Thunderstruck is quite hoppy with a clean finish. I got it on the condition that I let Missus ORPO have the bottle. It is painted and not a paper or one of those clear labels. The stencil treatment is what makes Stone products a bit pricey. I do love what comes out of that awesome brewery in Escondido!

Tom Russell and Nancy Griffith-Canadian Whiskey

“In the hills of Montana
There’s a timber wolf howlin’
The Rangers are prowlin’
For a woman alone
She’d run away
From an Indian lover
He’ll never recover
She turned him to stone”

This is one of those………….just because posts…………………Coors in the 1936 Commemorative Bottle………….more than one, I assure you fine readers!

Got me a pair of 22 oz. Arrogant Bastards here in the wee hours after work. Wednesday is My Regular Day Off in the Alternate Pay Period. I beat the crap out of my feet tonight on the line. I earned these puppies…………….

The See Gar is a Gold Strike that the convenience store carries in three pack for Nine Bucks. Decent See Gars they are.

New Beer Flavour

OK, new for me. I do like most of Sierra Nevada’s offerings over Sam Adams. I guess it is the local(California) thing.

This one is pretty good and even Missus ORPO said she could tolerate it. She is not a beer drinker by any stretch.

Travels on The Central Coast on Memorial Day Weekend 2015

Mrs. ORPO and I have been on the Central Coast of California this weekend. We went up to Cambria/Moonstone State Beach and to Morro Strand State Beach along the Pacific Coast Highway…………aka The 1.

I broke out the old Kodak Z612 Point and Shoot just for giggles…………………………………………..It still works good!

We also hit the Craft Brewery in San Luis Obispo, Tap It to see what it was all about…………..We Like It!

The Barrelhouse Flavours we picked up on Friday in Paso Robles.

I made it simple when we returned to the Vandenberg Inn and gathered them all for a picture. The Goodness from Figueroa Mountain that I obtained in Grover Beach at Von’s will be for a later day…………………..

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude…………….

Beer Blogging from The California Central Coast

Dateline: Vandenberg AFB VOQ

Missus ORPO and I are at our favourite lodging facility(affordable!) We drove over this afternoon and we did take our sweet time…………….We had a late lunch courtesy of the Arby’s in Lost Hills and then we made two stops in Paso Robles.

The first was at one of my most favourite breweries around, Firestone Walker, where upon the Growler was filled with Wookey Jack Black Rye IPA. This is one of my all time favourite flavours out there!

We then ventured to a newer establishment that we saw a sign for………….Barrelhouse Brewery. I procured a couple of 22 OZ. bottles that will be sampled later this weekend with the post to be part of the process………………………..

Without further ado……………………………..Wookey Jack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beer Map-Daily Mail

This one was out there today/yesterday. It has some rather interesting results, me thinks.

  • Bud Light is most popular beer in US, while Budweiser is tops in Canada
  • England prefers Carling over anything else, while Ireland opts for Guinness
  • Australians go for Victoria Bitter while Lion Red is the top dog in New Zealand
  • The most popular beer for each country was determined by its market share

“America, this Bud Light’s for you.

At least that is what a new map showing every country’s most popular beer indicates.

The map was created using everything from research reports to corporate filings and it shows the ‘beer brands of the world are as diverse as our planet itself’.”

The most popular beer for each country was determined by market share and VinePair made the map

The above is just a sample of the maps in the article. The rest are of the regions/continents of the world. Hit the link below and have a gander………………………..

Bud Light??????????????????????? Arrrrrgggghhhhhhhhhhhh!
